Intramuscular Stimulation Therapy (IMS)
Intramuscular Stimulation Therapy (IMS) is a dry needling therapy developed by Dr. Chan Gang to treat persistent pain and muscle stiffness. This method involves the insertion of small universal needles into muscle groups.
Acupuncture uses similar needles, but the treatment method is completely different.
At Our labs, all of our physiotherapists are licensed to use dry acupuncture. Tifani, Monica, Ravi, Derek, Cheyenne and Lisa are Kinetacore IMS certified in dry acupuncture techniques and Tifani is a Lever 2.
Kinetacore IMS Certification.
IMS services can also be provided in conjunction with general physical therapy if deemed appropriate by the therapist.

What is the concept of IMS and Dry Needling?
Dry Needling or IMS in Surrey is a form of acupuncture, but its purpose and method is very different from conventional strategies. Before choosing these services at All Care Physiotherapy, familiarize yourself with their definitions.
Dry Acupuncture.
This is a pain management method that targets triggers in muscles that are considered tactile or sensitive. These affected areas may feel like small bumps when touched. They can be caused by improper exercise, mental or physical strain, constant poor posture or dehydration.
Intramuscular Stimulation.
Intramuscular stimulation is another form of physical therapy, but it is different from a dry injection. Unlike dry injection, it plays a role in both the prognosis and treatment of neuropathic pain. This type of pain occurs when there is nerve dysfunction after an injury or tissue inflammation. In this case, the nerve becomes hypersensitive and interprets normal sensations as pain
What is the purpose of dry needling and BMI?
Both IMS and Dry Needling are effective for musculoskeletal dysfunction, but not for vestibular Physiotherapy in Surrey. IMS and Dry Needling, unlike traditional acupuncture, only treat the area where the needle is inserted and affect that specific area. They both follow the same principles for the treatment space. Acupuncture needles are inserted into a set of factors to treat muscle pain.
Will this cause muscle pain?
With IMS and dry needling, several muscles can be treated in one treatment. During treatment, each method causes pain in a particular muscle group, which can last from a few hours to several days, depending on the intensity of the pain. Typically, this pain is considered to be a soreness, a dull ache or a localized rebound sensation. Physical therapists consider this to be a good sign and describe this condition as a "muscle reaction". However, it is a non-permanent discomfort that is achieved by increasing mobility, muscle recovery and pain reduction. In general, it is important to perform the procedure after the needle to achieve a lasting effect.
